Start with the menu button at the upper left. Most sections are public and need no sign-in. Open Settings → Account and sign in once for member tools; the same account session is used throughout the app.
Current version: Android Preview 1.36 is distributed as an APK, not through Google Play. See the Android Beta page for the download and installation instructions.
New in Preview 1.36
Updated October 19, 2026. Preview 1.36 adds complete announcements and rich order guidance, document reading and translation, full dictionary copying, purchased-book export and media tools. The instructions below explain how to use these features.
Read and send complete announcements
Tap an ordinary notice in Home Announcements or the notice list to read the complete message. Email and HTTPS links have separate actions; email drafts include the subject and full message. An order announcement opens that exact order after sign-in and a successful fresh availability check. If the connection fails, pull down on Orders to retry; an unavailable order shows a message. Upcoming Events opens official calendar pages.
Authorized senders can compose full messages with images between text, choose publication and end times in Los Angeles time, edit notices owned by this device, and change an active notice’s end time or finish it. Saving an edit does not resend audience Push. Scheduled work is checked about every five minutes; device notification display may be later. A notification test targets only this device and reports the provider result. If a result is unconfirmed, retry the saved request first. “Keep draft and return to editing” cannot undo a request already accepted by the server; check sent notices before sending a new request.
Order guidance and product images
Order settings support Japanese and English guidance and product text with inline images. Paste one image at the text cursor or choose an image. Empty-language translation preserves image placement. Text, recipients, schedule, audience and the exact unresolved save are retained on this device. A changed sign-in session cannot silently replace an unresolved private draft. Images require confirmed server support; a list loads thumbnails, and tapping an image loads its original for zooming. Publication or order availability can end access.
Youth newsletters, translation and speech
Responsive HTML issues keep their photographs and layout while their text is translated between Japanese and English. Use Original to restore the article, Read aloud for the text currently displayed, and Share for the original article link. Reload clears the previous translation. HTML, PDF and image readers show a foreground translation indicator with cancellation. On-device translation may need a language-model download; speech depends on available device voices.
Dictionary entries and purchased books
Long-press a dictionary detail, an original-word search result or a tagged word and choose Copy all (including definition). The original word, Strong’s number, transliteration, pronunciation, part of speech and complete definition are copied together; individual copy actions remain. The approved Image of God preface is readable before activation. Other protected chapters still require activation. An activated purchaser can choose Download PDF and select a save location; the existing installation entitlement is checked again before export.
YouTube and stored originals
Authorized contributors can add a public YouTube video link. Administrators can manage the YouTube source attached to a video; an uploaded video keeps its stored original as a separate playback/export choice. A YouTube-only item shares its watch link and has no downloadable stored original. Preparing stored originals shows transferred bytes, a percentage when the total is known, and Cancel transfer. Transfers are bounded to 10 GiB per original and 20 GiB per batch, subject to available storage. Landscape viewing hides the album action area and fits the video to the viewing space.
1. Find a feature
Open the menu
Open Davar Church App.
Tap the three horizontal lines at the upper left.
Tap a row with a blue arrow to open that group.
Tap the feature you want. Tap Close to leave the menu.
The menu includes Home, Memory Verse, Bible AI, Bookmarks, Settings, newcomer information, Church information, Davar Network, Media, Store, and Links. Church administrators may add new pages below these built-in items.
Open the Cornelius Fellowship page
Tap the three horizontal lines at the upper left.
Tap Media to expand that group.
Tap Cornelius Fellowship, immediately below Live Streaming.
The messages.davarkg.com sign-in page opens inside the app. Enter the page password supplied by the Church. After successful sign-in, the page redirects to /cornelius-meeting-ondemand/.
Remember Me is on by default. It keeps only the website's WebKit cookie/session; the app does not read or save the page username or password. Signing out from the app's Settings deletes cookies for this Cornelius website and ends that web session.
Use the back button at the upper left to return. To refresh the content, use the reload button at the upper right or pull the page downward.
If the page cannot load, check the internet connection and tap Retry.
2. Upload a Verse Card or Blogger post
Open the gallery
Tap Memory Verse in the bottom bar or menu.
Tap View Cards below the weekly verse. The gallery offers a 1–7 column stepper, groups cards by year once publication dates are available, and opens with an auto-playing slideshow at the top.
If you tap a Verse Card shown on the Home screen instead, you can swipe through that same set and tap Show Gallery at the bottom to jump to this gallery.
In the gallery, tap the upload button at the upper right.
Tap "Log in from Settings" in the dialog to sign in (shown when you are signed out or your session has expired). Uploading needs the "Verse card upload" capability. There is no more per-feature password field.
Enter a Title and tap Choose image to select one photo. A metadata-free JPEG up to 4096 px and 10 MiB is sent; the server stores an orientation-aware 720p copy and does not keep the original.
Accounts with the "Verse card management" capability can add an optional comment, up to 500 characters.
Choose Blogger labels. The default is whichever labels you used last on this device, or "みことばカード" (Verse Card) if none — up to 20 labels and 200 combined characters. Keeping the default label selected puts this card in the app's Verse Card gallery.
Tap Upload once. The card is also saved on the device as an image, so the gallery and slideshow do not reload it next time.
Upload permissions are two-tier: the "Verse card upload" capability can upload only, and the "Verse card management" capability can also use the comment field at upload time and edit, rotate, or delete a card afterward (these are the same names shown in the Settings → Account capability list). Reopen a card and tap its edit button to change the title and labels (Blogger-managed cards only) and the comment (always editable, up to 500 characters) in the same editor, and to delete it from there. Rotating uses a separate button on the card's detail screen. If your account has the capability but the server still has not issued a card session after signing in again, the dialog shows "Please check this account's permission settings." — ask your Church administrator to review the account's permissions.
Before uploading: use a completed Verse Card image that you are allowed to share. Check names, faces, handwriting, addresses, school information, and anything else that should stay private.
3. Upload Church photos and videos
Open the Photos & Videos tab at the bottom, or Menu → Media → Church Photos & Videos, or the correct event gallery.
Sign in with the member media password (skip this if you already signed in from Settings → Account). The password is never stored on the device.
Tap Upload, then read and accept the sharing and immediate-publication notice only if every selected item is appropriate for Church use.
Choose Photos, Videos, Files, or a public share link from iCloud Photos, OneDrive, Amazon Photos, Dropbox Transfer, or a Dropbox shared folder. Device selection supports up to 500 items; a Cloud share may contain up to 2,000 items. Each item may be up to 10 GB.
Start the upload. Keep the app open until all items are placed in the background queue. Closing the sheet does not cancel work already queued.
The app sends the full batch, retries eligible failures, and then shows only items that still failed. Use Delete All Unfinished in the upload queue to clear every item still waiting to send.
Open the Public gallery and confirm the finished upload and its event tag.
Administrators can attach tags to uploaded photos and videos, and members can filter the gallery by tag from the "All tags" menu.
You can also import from an iCloud Shared Album link (alongside OneDrive, Amazon Photos, and Dropbox, from the same "Import from cloud" option).
Similar photos may appear as "Duplicate Files" candidates. You can preview one before deleting it, or tap "These are not duplicates" to dismiss the candidate without deleting anything.
Beginner video: Google Play to photo upload (about 1:57).
Permission matters: confirm permission for people shown, especially children, worship or prayer, private conversations, name badges, addresses, and documents. Contact Support to request removal.
4. Orders
Open Orders from the app menu.
If you already have a verified member profile, your name and email are filled in automatically; otherwise enter them.
Use − / + to set the quantity for each item and add an optional comment. The deadline is shown in both your device's local time and Los Angeles time.
Tap Review order to check the name, email, items, quantities, and comment. Go back to edit, or tap Place this order once.
Submitting records it in Order History. While the order stays open, the same device can edit or cancel it; once the order closes it becomes read-only.
On a different device, or after reinstalling the app, use the recovery option in Order History and enter your verified email address to restore the order history tied to that email.
Signing in with an account that can manage order settings adds an "Order settings" entry to the "Administration" card in Settings. From there you can create and edit order setups (concurrent edits are merged automatically), open or close ordering, export a submissions list as CSV, review revision history, and schedule the announcement and push notification.
5. Bible features and how to use them
Read and study
Open Bible from Home or the menu.
Tap the book and chapter name to move to another passage.
Choose one, two, or three panes on supported devices. Each pane shows its current Bible or study resource.
Tap a verse to select it. Drag across verses to select a longer passage.
Use the action bar to highlight, bookmark, write a note, copy, share, or speak the selection.
Tap the i button at the top of the screen to open Sources & licenses, a curated list of the Bibles, commentaries, and cross-reference sources the app uses. Back and forward restore your search query and results, Words of Jesus, and Parallel view settings, not just your reading position.
Search and original languages
Search: find words or phrases in the Japanese Kougo-yaku or KJV. Tap a result to open it in context.
Parallel reading: compare Japanese and English, or add a study resource in another pane.
Word links: tap a supported WLC Biblical Hebrew word to highlight linked KJV or Japanese Kougo-yaku words; Greek New Testament word links are available with KJV.
Delitzsch Hebrew New Testament: compare Delitzsch's Hebrew translation with KJV or Kougo-yaku using the same linked-word display. Delitzsch is a Hebrew translation of the New Testament, not the original New Testament text.
Word details: view Strong's number, reading, gloss, and related occurrences.
Japanese-to-original search: start with a Japanese word and find related Greek or Hebrew entries.
Gospel Parallels: compare matching scenes in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Words of Jesus: browse passages containing Jesus' sayings.
Commentary, Bird's Eye View, and TSK: open explanation and cross-reference sheets. Supported OS versions can translate explanatory text on device.
Saved: reopen bookmarks, verse notes, highlights, and commentary notes.
The Bible database and saved study tools work offline after installation. Network-based translation and Bible AI need an internet connection.
6. Bible AI
Sign in from Settings → Account, then open Bible AI. The newest messages and question field are shown at the bottom.
Ask one clear question at a time. Include the Bible passage, year, seminar, or Church topic you mean.
Use the conversation list at the top of the screen to start a new conversation or switch between saved ones. Deleting a conversation asks for confirmation first.
When an answer has sources, they are listed under it. If supporting excerpts are available, tap "Supporting excerpts" to expand the quoted passages.
Long-press to select text and copy it with the device's standard copy feature.
If a Davar-specific question has no relevant Davar source, the service stops with a temporary-unavailability message instead of guessing. General Bible questions remain available. Turning off "Save chat history" on the Bible AI card in Settings deletes the conversations saved on this device, and also deletes your history on the server if your email is verified (it retries automatically later if the device was offline when you turned it off). With a verified email, your conversations also sync across your other devices. Signing in again from Settings → Account keeps your conversations if you sign in as the same verified member; if a different verified member signs in, or someone signs in with the shared church password without a verified email, the conversations stored on that device are cleared.
7. Ready to Receive Jesus
Open Menu → For Newcomers → Ready to Receive Jesus. The guide explains God's love, sin, salvation through Jesus Christ, faith, a confession of faith, and the next steps of Christian life.
English introduction (about 1:17).
8. Other features
Home and Church updates
Pull down to refresh, and the screen also refreshes automatically when you return to it after more than a minute in the background. Each row shows a thumbnail image, and SNS Updates rows show a YouTube thumbnail. Open weekly bulletins, narrated sermon summaries, announcements (your own branches listed first; the bulletin PDF item there opens the in-app PDF viewer), events, newsletters, Church School updates, and branch blogs.
Bulletins and newsletters
They open in the in-app PDF viewer, with two-page-spread bulletins rearranged into four portrait reading pages. Use "Show selectable text" to switch to the original or translated text, and play the read-aloud version; sharing keeps the original PDF.
JBS Schedule
Open Schedule under "2026JBS" in the menu. Switch between JST and PDT to check times, and the bundled PDF works offline. Use the share button to send the original PDF.
Media
Open Live Streaming, Cornelius Fellowship, official YouTube channels, teaching series, and Church Photos & Videos from the Photos & Videos tab at the bottom or from the menu. Videos may continue in a small window with Picture in Picture.
Settings and account
Choose language, appearance (light/dark), and a 10-step Text Size slider with a live sample, current percentage, and a Reset to Default button. Once signed in, Settings lists the capabilities granted to your account (such as Bible AI and Verse Card upload). Accounts that can send announcements also see an "Administration" card in Settings. Choose administrator announcements independently from the daily 8:00 AM Los Angeles notification covering site, photo, video, Verse Card, and bulletin updates. Offline-content usage and clearing, a Support link, and your branch list are also here. If your permissions change, tap Sign In Again to refresh them without signing out. Signing out takes effect immediately and returns the sign-in button.
