Privacy policy
This policy describes Bible App - Tridav’s current iOS app and this documentation website. Study data inside the app and website access information are handled separately.
Information in the app
This version has no Tridav accounts, personal-data transmission to a dedicated app server, analytics SDK, or advertising SDK. Reading the Bible does not require sign-in. Bundled Bible text, including Japanese Freedom Bible (Draft), is read from the app’s resources; selecting or reading it does not contact the text publisher.
| Information | Purpose and storage |
|---|---|
| Notes, bookmarks, and highlights | Stored in the app’s local device storage to retain study content and its location. This includes commentary annotations. |
| Search history and reading positions | Used to revisit searches and resume reading or narration. Some state, such as navigation back/forward history, is held in memory while the app is running. |
| Course progress | Hebrew 101 exercise, reading, and review completion, together with resume positions, is stored locally. |
| Preferences | Display language, translation target, appearance, text size, pinch mode, selected resources, pane settings, and continuous-narration preference are stored locally. |
| Translation cache | Bible and commentary translations are cached by source content and target language on your device to avoid repeating work for the same content. The translation cache is marked for exclusion from OS backups. |
Backups, deletion, and changing devices
Tridav does not provide its own cross-device synchronization or cloud recovery service. Depending on device settings, OS backups may include app data. Manage backup use, retention, and deletion through your Apple account and device settings.
You can remove individual notes and annotations from the saved list. Deleting the app normally removes its local app files from that device, but does not also delete copies you shared elsewhere, existing OS backups, Apple’s purchase records, or necessarily the Keychain time observations described below. Check how important notes are saved before reinstalling or changing devices.
Apple purchases and access periods
Apple’s StoreKit handles the optional free-trial and one-time Full Access transactions, billing and purchase restoration through your Apple Account. Tridav verifies the signed purchase information locally to determine access. We do not receive your card details, operate a receipt-validation server, or send purchase records, reading activity or notes to CBLH Software from the app. Apple’s own policies apply to its store services.
The RC free-access campaign runs through October 31, 2026, 23:59 JST and needs no purchase or trial activation. It does not use the optional 7-day trial. To reduce extensions caused by reinstalling or turning back the device clock, Tridav stores local time observations in this app’s Keychain: one for the campaign and separate observations for a verified trial. They contain dates, not payment-card details or study notes. These records are device-bound, are not synchronized by Tridav, and may remain after the app is deleted. They do not themselves prove a purchase or restore deleted study data. Optional purchase products are being prepared separately from the public free-access campaign.
Apple features
Automatic translation of selected Bible text, commentary and TSK uses Apple’s on-device Translation framework; narration uses system speech synthesis. No external paid translation service is integrated. Depending on the OS and available language or voice resources, downloads from Apple may be needed. Translation language data can be prepared from the app’s Settings; Apple’s system service handles required consent and downloading. Apple also controls removal of shared language models through OS settings; this is separate from app translation caches and speech voices. Apple’s settings and policies also govern those OS services. Tridav has no feature that sends questions or notes to its own AI server.
Sharing, external links, and support
When you choose Copy or Share, selected content passes to the clipboard or the app or service you select. The recipient service’s settings and policies govern its subsequent storage and use.
Opening an external source link may send normal connection information, including an IP address, to that site. If you contact support by email, we use your sender address and message to respond and investigate the issue. Do not send passwords or unnecessary personal information.
Website access information
To deliver pages, investigate faults, and prevent unauthorized access, the web server and security features process access logs that can include IP addresses, browser information, request details, and timestamps. This site does not include analytics scripts or advertising trackers.
Protected documentation, including the system overview, uses password authentication. After authentication, a necessary cookie authorizes access to protected pages for 12 hours. This is website authentication, not a Tridav app account. The public overview, manual, and privacy pages do not require authentication.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when features or data handling change. The bundled Japanese Freedom Bible (Draft) addition does not change the app’s data-collection policy.
For privacy or data questions, contact webteam@davar.org (CBLH Software / Tridav). Please indicate whether your question concerns the app or this website.
